Hugs with Mayer ^_^

Firstly, I just want to apologize to my friends and the BF for putting up with me going on and on about Mayer Hawthorne since like forever and with his trip down under announced last year the excitement had intensified lol. I’m a huge Mayer fan ever since I heard Just Ain’t Gonna Work Out and so for awhile now I have been following his work…..and his tweets…ok his life!

I first saw Mayer perform at Splore 2011 however I missed out on the signing so this time round I made sure that I would meet him one way or another (that totally doesn’t sound like I’m a stalker/groupie). Thanks to Coup De Main Magazine and Universal Music I was lucky enough to win 2 “meet and greet” competitions, yes 2!!

The first meet and greet was to attend his soundcheck with The County. It was pretty much a 20min concert with about 10 other people, such a treat! He performed some covers such as Michael Jackson, Prince – I Wanna Be Your Lover, Hall & Oates – You Make My Dreams Come True as well as some of his own tunes. Afterwards he met everyone, did signings and took photos. I gave him my felt broken heart badge that I made for him which I think he was stoked about. The second meet and greet was a bit more intimate and perhaps too overwhelming for me, all I could manage were nervous giggles, le sigh.

Mayer signed my "Just Ain't Gonna Work Out" heart record and "Mayer Hawthorne and The County live at Capsule Labs" record which I picked up at Turntable Lab in LA last October.

The show itself was amazing and the crowd were loving it. Highlight for me was seeing Henny and Gingerale performed live and watching him proceed to share his bottle of Hennesy with the crowd. I had the most amazing time and will never forget my experience!
